I see clients struggling with a wide array of issues, from troubled relationships to anxiety and depression to parenting problems.
My professional interests include couples communication, adolescent development, parenting during the adolescent years, recovery from chemical abuse and dependency, and strengthening family resilience. In addition, I periodically lead parent education classes and parent effectiveness training programs in the local area.
I am licensed by the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice. In addition, I am a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a full-time faculty member at New England College in the graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I received my BA from the University of Maine, MEd from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and PhD from Purdue University in Indiana. In 2001, I completed the Certificate of Study in Adlerian Psychology of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology and in 2008 was awarded the Diplomate in Adlerian Psychology.
My interests outside of work include classical music, distance running, hiking, and enjoying the beauty and culture of Southern New Hampshire.
I make no bones about the fact that life is challenging much of the time and painful some of the time. We just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
