Dear Reader -- Currently, I am not accepting new clients.  My caseload is full.  A good alternative here in Concord is Warren Street Family Counseling.  Many experienced clinicians work there.  And thank you for finding your way to my website.  Roger Ballou

My goodness, life can be difficult at times. Did all of us sign on for this?

Yes, there are many moments of joy. Those sort of save us. And then there's the anger, and the anxiety, and the sadness. And many times these feelings are the result of our mixed up and problematic relationships.

And that's what I treasure about my work as a therapist -- helping individuals and couples regain their footing and get back on track. I see clients at my office located at 100 North Main Street in downtown Concord -- accessible and easy to find.  It's directly across the street from the State capitol building.

I see individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and related problems, and I see couples who are distressed and not getting along.

Over the years, I've worked with many individuals and more than 500 couples. I'm passionate about making a difference in people's lives. I educate, coach, and support you in your efforts to get better. And, in the end, I trust you to know what's best for yourself individually or, if a couple, what's best for your relationship.

My credentials -- I hold the PhD in Counseling/Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University and MEd in Counseling and Guidance from the College of William and Mary.  I'm fully licensed by the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice and a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.  I am also a faculty member at New England College in the graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I've made a life's work of studying relationships and what helps them run smoothly.

Come alone or with your partner.  Sometimes, coming alone is an opportunity to learn new things that can dramatically help you and your relationships.

With couples, I typically see them for 5-8 sessions, then we evaluate how it's going. If I do a good job of teaching as part of couples therapy, then the two of you learn what's needed to make it on your own.

I see clients on weekday afternoons.
